You can connect your Smartfrog camera via www.smartfrog.com or the Smartfrog App.
Smartfrog Camera set up via app:
Download the Smartfrog App from the iTunes App store or the Google Play Store
Log in with the user account in the Smartfrog App with which you also placed your order.
In the camera overview, click "Connect Smartfrog Cam"
Now you can set up the Smartfrog camera. Connect the white power cable to the Smartfrog Cam. The light on the camera will turn green after approximately a minute and then you can continue with the setup.
Please enter the network name exactly as it is displayed, including upper and lower case letters. In our example, the "Smartfrog" would be the network name. Please then enter the WLAN password.
It may happen that your router offers several networks. Please note, your Smartfrog camera can only connect to a 2.4 GHz network.
You may be asked to scan the QR code. This only happens if the PC / Mac is not in the WLAN network with which the camera wants to connect. The QR code is then used to transfer the necessary data.
Please hold the camera approximately 20 cm away from the QR code and reduce or lengthen the distance slowly until you hear a short beep from your camera.
During this step, you can assign the camera a name like "living room"
If you received an error, please check the following:
- Make sure you entered the password correctly. If you click on the eye (symbol), the entered password will be displayed.
- Please note, the network must be password-protected. The camera can not connect to open networks.
- Is the password between 8 und 32 characters long?
- Does the password consist of numbers only? If so, please add a letter to the password and reset the router.
- Restart the router by disconnecting it from the power for about 30 seconds. Often an update of the firmware of the router can help this issue. This can assist your Internet service provider or the manufacturer of the router to update the firmware if needed.
- If the network is a hotspot, e.g. in a train station or hotel, for security reasons you can not connect the camera to a hotspot.
